Employment Opportunity - Safe Sport Coordinator

Summary Description
Working across all facets of the USA Gymnastics (USAG) Safe Sport department, this position provides coordination between Safe Sport investigation, resolution and education. Demonstrated experience with assembling highly confidential and sensitive information is required. This role will consist of working with a diverse group of important external stakeholders, as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload. This position will report to the Vice President of Safe Sport, but will work closely with the entire Safe Sport team on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track Safe Sport case statistics, outreach activities and education for setting and analyzing benchmarks
  • Locate and define new processes for the collection and analysis of Safe Sport data
  • Facilitate on-going communication with the Safe Sport staff, the U.S. Center for SafeSport, case complainants, independent attorneys and other stakeholders of the gymnastics community
  • Update and maintain Safe Sport spreadsheets and provide them upon request
  • Assess completed cases to help determine the final disposition process
  • Assist with U.S. Center for SafeSport audit compliance
  • Monitor and track Safe Sport communications (email, website notifications, hotline notifications, phone calls, letters, messages, etc.)
  • Process and track administrative documents; draft letters and emails
  • Notify the Safe Sport team of pending deadlines in case tracking, as well as compliance with cases
  • Coordinate hearing panels and Alternative Dispute Resolutions
  • Maintain a calendar of activities, meetings and various deadlines
  • Attend regional and national congress to provide assistance with on-site training workshops
  • Other duties as assigned by Safe Sport team

Requirements and Competencies

  • Experience working with people that are affected by issues of child abuse, mental health, sexual abuse or domestic violence
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention
  • Experience working in high volume case management environments
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience working with database systems
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated business letter writing and report preparation
  • Must remain Safe Sport compliant
  • Microsoft Office Suite and database management system required
  • Background in youth sports preferred


  • Bachelors degree required

  • Position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Salary and benefits commensurate with experience
  • Weekend work and some travel may be required
