Gymnast of the Week awards are given by conference offices. More will be added throughout the week as they become available.

NCAA Rookie of the Week
Crew Bold - Minnesota
Bold, a native of Delray Beach, Fla. made quite the impression last weekend at Iowa. He competed on rings, parallel bars and high bar and posted top 10 finishes and career highs in each. He came away with his first-ever event title on high bar with a personal best score of 14.100, which is also Minnesota's highest score this season. It's the second-best mark on high bar by any freshman in the country this year and third-best overall. Bold also took home the bronze on rings with a score of 13.300 as Minnesota's top finisher and notched a 13.100 on rings to tie for sixth.

Co-Gymnasts of the Week
Hamish Carter - Illinois
  • Helped Illinois post a season-high 407.050 in a dual meet victory over Nebraska last weekend
  • Won the all-around title with a score of 81.300
  • Posted a career-high 13.800 on the still rings to place third and a season-best 14.050 on the floor
Stephen Nedoroscik - Penn State
  • Posted the nation’s best score in the pommel horse in more than five years with a 15.900 in helping the Nittany Lions win at Air Force last weekend
  • The two-time NCAA pommel horse champion easily eclipsed his previous career-high of 15.500
  • His 15.900 pommel horse score is a full point higher than the No. 2 score nationally
Freshman of the Week
Robbie Shamp - Penn State
  • Won two events in helping Penn State win at Air Force last weekend
  • Claimed the floor title with a personal best 14.100 score, the highest floor score by a Nittany Lion this season
  • Also won the vault crown with a 14.05 score

Gymnast of the Week
David Toussaint – Navy
The junior led a well-rounded team effort for Navy on Saturday as the Mids won the 2020 Gymnastics Star over Army, 404.4-380.9. Toussaint competed in four events for Navy and placed top-five in all; he won the vault outright with a 14.6 score (+0.25 ahead of second place), tied for first on the floor exercise with a 13.9, placed third on the pommel horse with a 13.05 and fifth on the parallel bars courtesy of a 12.8 effort.

Specialist of the Week
Ben Provost – Navy
The senior turned in a pair of top-notch performances on Saturday as he led off the 2020 Army-Navy Star Meet with a score of 13.9 on the floor exercise that tied for first in the event before closing the competition with a 13.8 on the high bar to win by 0.15 points. He was the first gymnast on the floor on Saturday and the last gymnast on the high bar as the anchor for Navy in their 23.5-point victory over Army, 404.4-380.9.

Rookie of the Week
Connor Van Loo – Navy
In his first-ever Army-Navy gymnastics competition, Van Loo placed in the top-four in a pair of events. On his first routine, he scored a 13.5 on the floor exercise to place third overall before coming back on the vault and notching a 14.2, good for fourth place.

Gymnast of the Week
Andrew Bitner - Stanford
Stanford junior Andrew Bitner (Hoschton, GA) won the all-around at the Pac-12 Invitational (Feb. 2) with a career-best 81.200, including season-highs of 13.900 and 13.400 on floor and pommel horse, respectively. Stanford posted a team score of 406.600 to defeat the host No. 11 California, No. 12 Arizona State and No. 15 Washington. Bitner's 81.200 was the 10th-highest all-around score this season, and the second-highest of the week. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Bitner. Stanford has earned all four weekly awards this year.
