Player of the Week
Hope Bravo - Baylor
Baylor's Hope Bravo was named the NCATA Athlete of the Week after leading the four-time defending national champion Baylor Bears to a convincing 275.805-227.695 victory over West Liberty on the road last Sunday. Bravo, a senior top from Dallas, Texas, competed in nine total heats for the Bears, helping Baylor record a 9.40 or higher in eight of those heats. Bravo helped lead BU to a perfect-10 in the compulsory toss, and a 9.60 in the five-element acro and synch toss heats. The senior also scored a 9.70 out of a possible 9.80 in the aerial tumbling heat.

Specialist of the Week
Joie Hensley - Baylor
Hensley, a top from Castle Pines, Colo., helped the Baylor Bears record a 9.60 in synchronized toss, and a 9.80 in the open toss. Hensley's kick double in the toss heats helped Baylor compete with a 10.0 start value, and the execution of her skills received minimal to no dedications during the meet against West Liberty.

Freshman of the Week
Claire Guittard - King
Guittard, a freshman from Connelly Springs, N.C., starred for the Tornado in her first career meet as KU earned a season opening win over No. 9 Alderson Broaddus. Guittard competed in nine heats against ABU, helping King to scores of 9.85 in compulsory toss, and 9.45 in the compulsory pyramid and inversion pyramid heats. Guittard also record an 8.45 (out of 8.90) in her individual tumbling pass (six element).
