Gymnast of the Week
Akash Modi - Stanford
Stanford senior Akash Modi (Morganville, NJ) won the floor exercise (14.900), placed second on pommel horse (14.600), third on vault (14.350), and closed with a win on parallel bars (14.950) en route to the top all-around (85.450) in a tri-meet win over No. 8 Air Force and No. 17 Washington in Colorado Springs, CO (Feb. 4). Stanford remained unbeaten this year in team event titles. This is Modi’s 12th career MPSF weekly award, including two this year.

Gymnast of the Week
Jake Martin - Ohio State
* Posted the fifth-highest all-around score (85.250) in the nation to take first in the event in Ohio State’s dual meet victory over Michigan
* Finished at the top of the podium on high bar (14.850), and took third place on the parallel bars (14.350) and pommel horse (14.400)
* The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree ranks fifth in the nation in the all-around, averaging 84.325 through three meets
* Collects his fourth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award

Freshman of the Week
Favian Valdez - Penn State
* Collected four top-five finishes in Penn State’s dual meet at Illinois
* Earned his first collegiate all-around title, registering a score of 80.950
* Took third on the pommel horse (13.850) and parallel bars (14.100), before finishing fifth in the floor exercise (13.500)
* Earns his third Freshman of the Week award
* Last Penn State Freshman of the Week: Sam Zakutney (Jan. 30, 2017)

Gymnast of the Week
Nathan Goff – Army
Goff finished second in the all-around in the Black Knights’ win over Navy, placing first on pommel horse with a score of 13.95 in the process. The junior finished with a total of 81.90 in the all-around, and also finished in second on the horizontal bar (14.20).

Specialist of the Week
Nick Van Dyke – William & Mary
Van Dyke won the vault event in decisive fashion at last weekend’s New England Championships, scoring a career-best 14.6 to finish 0.7 points ahead of the second-place finisher. The senior also scored 12.65 on floor exercise to contribute to a season-high team score in the event.

Rookie of the Week
Lucas Beltran – Navy
In his first career Army-Navy Star Meet, the freshman posted the top scores in both the floor exercise and vault. His 14.9 vault score is the sixth-highest individual performance in the NCAA this season.
